About Us:
By empowering youth, the Seattle Student Union united middle and high school students across the city, fostering collective action for tangible change. Since our founding in January 2022, we have championed causes like abortion rights, climate justice, mental health, Black Lives Matter, and gun violence prevention. Through numerous walkouts and rallies, we’ve won $24 million for school mental health counselors, and a statewide assault weapons ban and we’re just getting started..
As we expand statewide and become the Washington Youth Alliance, we will forge a better future - one that is more just and compassionate, where no young person is refused access to mental health services, where we address the climate crisis as a priority, and gun violence is an epidemic of the past.
