We are looking for a Data Analyst that will provide critical support across the organization through reporting and advanced analytics that will capture real-time actionable data to guide decision making. In this role, you will be critical to our company’s growth. The primary responsibility of this position is to collect, analyze, and connect large volumes of data from disparate sources, extract insights, and identify opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Integrate disparate sources of data and prepare high level analyses using various software programs or statistical programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL).
● Manage large, complex data sets and support the reporting requirements across the organization providing actionable and real-time data in a highly visual format (dashboards) to key stakeholders.
● Act as a data steward to maintain the integrity of our data sources within a centralized repository in which there is a “single source of data” to be referenced and ensure consistency in reporting across the organization.
● Collect and analyze data on consumer demographics, preferences and buying patterns in different markets and sales channels to optimize product distribution and identify opportunities for growth.
● Conduct competitive analyses across multiple sales channels and ecommerce platforms providing insight on sales trends, marketing methods, promotions/advertising, product pricing and distribution.
● Evaluate the Return on Investment (ROI) for digital marketing and advertising campaigns and make recommendations on strategies that will drive profitable growth, improve our competitive position, and increase brand awareness.
● Work cross-functionally with Sales and Finance teams to evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and ensure the accurate accounting of customer discounts/allowances.
● Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams in preparing customer presentations and creating fact-based selling stories.
● Work with the Marketing and Innovation teams to analyze consumer insight data to inform new product development decisions, packaging updates and unique SKUs for various channels.
● Develop new product forecasting models using predictive analytics and work closely with Sales and Operations Planning Team to improve forecast accuracy for new product launches.
● Work collaboratively with internal team members in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Demand Planning to refine customer forecast for new and existing products.
● Assist in the development and refinement of channel, customer, and product P&Ls to drive profitable growth across multiple brand lines.
● Identify opportunities for process improvement that enable the organization to capture the most valuable data.
● Make recommendations for new KPIs and better ways to manage data to view the business across multiple dimensions.
● Conduct ad-hoc analyses and participate in other projects as needed.
● May be required to perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
● Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in Business Analytics, Data Science, or Information Management, or related field or equivalent from a four-year university or technical school.
● 4+ years in an Analyst role with experience in database management, KPI reporting, and marketing/promotional analytics or related experience and/or training, preferably in a Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) company.
● Experience in data warehousing and importing/exporting data to a variety of databases and applications.
● Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI).
● Experience with syndicated data platforms (e.g., Nielsen) a plus.
● Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (a.k.a. Navision, Microsoft D365) ERP software a plus.
● Experience with Amazon Premium Analytics, Google Analytics and Facebook Insights a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Advanced proficiency with software tools such as Excel and the ability to gather, assess, and analyze large volumes of data, as well as PowerPoint to build presentations.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
● Solid business intelligence and reporting development experience, preferably within a data lake environment.
● Exceptional team player with the interpersonal skills needed to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting, earn team confidence quickly and facilitate change.
● Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks and evolving priorities.

In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $95,000/year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other factors as permitted by law.
