What We're Looking For...
There has been significant growth in the use of technology across the business both in terms of the number of users and the number and type of devices and software used by a wider group of users.
End User Computing includes traditional Windows devices\software, our MFD fleet and IP Telephony (RingCentral) as well as Android smartphones and tablets and a growing estate of chrome devices including video conferencing. All staff have GSuite accounts and there is an increasing use of self-service applications to improve collaboration, remove paper and streamline business processes. It is essential that we ensure we provide excellent service for these assets and assist users in utilising them effectively.
The role is part of the Service team within IT that also includes the Service Desk and Asset Management teams and providing occasional call overflow cover for the Service Desk is a small element of the job.
Your Responsibilities Will Include...
As an
End User Computing Analyst your responsibilities will include;
- To work proactively with both internal IT teams and the wider business teams, to help drive end user efficiency and effectiveness from the use of our core user productivity tools
- To build and configure new End User Computing hardware and software in line with AG Barr's standard
- build \ configuration procedures
- To work with and perhaps under supervision the Infrastructure, Applications and other teams to resolve more complex issues often as the only IT analyst able to place hands on
- To identify and supervise the repair of faulty equipment
- To provide advice and guidance to users on the use of standard company user productivity tools (eg G-Suite, remote access, Windows, Office, Printing, RingCentral, Chrome devices)
- To provide support services to all users. e.g. answering queries, assisting in problems with access to the network, granting access to print services, WiFi etc
- To update the Service Desk system and the impacted user with any and all changes to the call status
- To work with the IT Asset team to maintain accurate software and hardware asset management records for all End User hardware and software
- To contribute to the ongoing development of End User Computing tools and standards
What You'll Bring...
The successful candidate will have;
- A degree within an IT related discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and training skills
- Experience troubleshooting basic issues around networking (including wireless), software and printing
- Experience in administering and supporting, as a minimum, Active Directory and Windows (7 or above) in a business environment
- Experience troubleshooting issues and replacing hardware and software on a range of devices (PCs, Laptops, Tablets, Smartphones, Chrome,...)
- Experience installing and controlling software, patches and updates
- Experience in supporting mobile devices
- The ability to safely carry out some limited manual handling
