Job Description:
NCMC Freight is seeking motivated and experienced Account Executives to join our sales team. The successful candidates will be responsible for driving business growth by acquiring new clients and managing relationships with existing ones. **Candidates must have an existing book of business.**
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Acquisition:
- Identify Potential Clients: Actively seek out and identify potential clients through networking, cold calling, and industry events.
- Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients to understand their transportation needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Sales Presentations: Present NCMC Freight's services to prospective clients, highlighting the benefits and value of partnering with us.
- Close Deals: Secure new clients by negotiating and closing sales agreements.
2. Account Management:
- Maintain Relationships: Develop, establish, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
- Upselling: Identify opportunities to upsell additional services to existing clients, expanding the scope of business.
3. Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Negotiate Rates: Negotiate freight rates with shippers and carriers to secure competitive pricing while ensuring quality service.
- Contract Management: Prepare and manage contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are clearly defined and agreed upon by both parties.
4. Load Coordination:
- Coordinate Shipments: Work with the operations team to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments, providing accurate and timely updates to clients.
- Monitor Shipments: Track and monitor shipments from pickup to delivery, ensuring they are transported safely and on schedule.
5. Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, rates, and competitor activities.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company goals and drive revenue growth.
6. Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare Documentation: Ensure that all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and freight bills, are accurately prepared and filed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and industry standards.
Skills:
- Strong sales skills with a proven track record in logistics sales or related field.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to build relationships with clients.
- Ability to effectively present services and negotiate terms with clients.
- Knowledge of dispatching processes and ability to coordinate multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot) for managing client relationships.
- Proficient in transportation planning software for efficient routing and load optimization.
- Accurate data entry skills to maintain shipment records and documentation.
- Understanding of freight industry regulations, compliance, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- Proven experience as an Account Executive or in a similar sales role within the logistics industry.
- Must have an existing book of business.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, including regulations, market trends, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple loads and clients simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
