Surfr has established itself as the market leader in accurate jump tracking technology for smartphones and watches. Despite our growth and success, there is still enormous potential for further expansion, particularly outside the EU. We have developed the Surfr.app, which is already performing well. Role Overview:
As a Social Media & Content Marketing Specialist, you will work directly with Herbert, CEO and Chief Marketing Officer at Surfr, to craft and execute media and marketing strategies. The title "Specialist" emphasizes that while you will be involved in ideation and strategizing, your primary focus is on hands-on execution of existing media and marketing strategies.
Based on your skills and ambitions, this role also offers the opportunity to grow into the Chief Marketing Officer position, taking over responsibilities from Herbert, and making you fully responsible for Surfr's go-to-market strategies.
Content and Community Engagement:
- Create and manage an overall content plan, outsourcing content creation as needed.
- Maintain and update the website, ensuring it remains helpful to users.
- Develop FAQs and help information with the assistance of a hired writer.
- Manage brand representation across all social channels, App Store, and Play Store.
- Create a consistent stream of stories on our Instagram channel.
- Generate posts and reels from both in-house and provided content.
- Engage with users online, responding to tags, reviews, posts, and questions on forums.
- Respond to DM’s and comments
- Produce and edit video content, design graphics, and craft compelling stories.
- Regularly shoot content with a GoPro or iPhone.
Marketing and Advertising:
- Contribute to the overall marketing strategy and gradually take on more responsibility.
- Develop and oversee the execution of advertisement campaigns across digital platforms. Advertisement campaigns are part of our existing broader marketing campaigns.
- Implement diverse communication strategies to enhance user interaction through in-app messages, email campaigns, and push notifications.
Influencer and Partner Relations:
- Manage a network of influencers, ensuring alignment with brand goals and managing performance.
KPIs:
- Increase in social media followers across platforms like Instagram and YouTube.
- Amount of content released across different channels.
- Engagement metrics such as comments, interactions, and direct messages.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is highly creative with a passion for social media and marketing. They should be enthusiastic about engaging directly with our audience and handling day-to-day social media interactions. This role is perfect for someone who is talented in content creation and social media engagement but also enjoys the practical aspects of executing marketing strategies.

- Adaptability: Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in digital marketing.
- Budget Management: Experience in managing budgets and optimizing spend on advertising campaigns.
- Video Editing: Skilled with video editing software to produce engaging content.
- Content Creation: Proficient in English writing and graphic design (Photoshop or similar).
Preferred Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using website CMS tools like Elementor, with basic programming skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as a plus.
- Shooting: Proficient in using GoPro and phone-based cameras for content creation.
Other Requirements:
- Passionate about watersports, preferably kiteboarding or wingfoiling.
- Familiar with and an active user of the Surfr app.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in similar positions.
Job Position Details:
- 1 FTE / 40 hours per week (less can be discussed).
- Hiring as a freelancer or on payroll (gross salary range: €30K - €42K yearly, based on 1 FTE).
- Secondary benefits include team kite weeks in various windy locations worldwide.
