International Health Alliance (IHA) offers unique internships and educational programs that are designed not just for academic enhancement but for cultivating a deep-seated passion for healthcare and humanitarian service. This internship is unpaid and has costs associated with the travel portion of the internship. International travel is a required part of the internship.
Program Duration: 2 Weeks. One remote educational session and one full week in the Dominican Republic (travel is required).

- 1 Week Online Training: Dive into a structured curriculum delivered through a 2-hour live and recorded online session. You'll be assigned a dedicated doctor for personalized guidance, ensuring a supportive and enriching remote learning experience.
- 1 Week in the Dominican Republic: Embark on a transformative journey! Your in-person hands-on experience will be under expert supervision and teaching, gaining practical skills in a variety of dental procedures, from dental cleanings to advanced techniques like implants and bone grafts. You'll be immersed in a learning environment that prepares you for the complexities of dental practice. Some learning opportunities and procedures will be based on successful local patient sponsorship.
- Ability to Choose Electives: Electives vary based on travel dates and doctor availability by local dental professionals. You'll have the opportunity to attend guest lectures on specialized topics such as dental technology and community dentistry, enriching your understanding of global dental practices.
Beyond dentistry, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic. Explore local customs, traditions, and cuisine, enhancing your overall experience and understanding of the community you'll be serving.
