Summary
Catalyst Communications Network is seeking a talented and ambitious Deputy Editor to join our dynamic team. The Deputy Editor will be a hard worker, capable of handling a very multifaceted role. Taking direction from (and working alongside) our Head of Content, this role will involve writing, editing, managing, interviewing and planning.
This role will work closely with all of Catalyst Communication Network’s publications throughout the construction and agriculture sectors (Farmers Hot Line, Lift and Access, Crane Hot Line, Contractors Hot Line, AcreageLife, Chicken Whisperer Magazine, etc.).

Although this is a salaried position, this is very much a full-time role. In this position, you will be expected to work eight hours a day, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Helping out our Head of Content where needed.
- Assisting with editing articles within our style guide and working with our production staff to approve proofs.
- Ability to optimize content for both web (SEO) and print publications, and post them in our content management system.
- Able to multitask and change direction as priorities evolve.
- Willing to find and pitch article ideas when needed.
- Assist in the planning of the publications
- Interviewing and writing articles when needed.
- Willingness to travel and represent editorial at industry trade shows to represent editorial when necessary.
- Working with and supporting sales with custom content ideas and execution when needed.
- Assisting in the management and administrative content duties when needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Background in editorial.
- Experience/knowledge of writing for B2B publications.
- Strong work ethic.
- Desire to learn and take direction.
- Experience writing for construction and/or agriculture is a plus.
- Understanding of SEO and content management systems.
- Familiarity with AP style.
- Experience working with sales a plus.
- Capable of communicating with a remote team in an effective manner.
