Patient Accounts Coordinator – Full Time Remote

Job Responsibilities:
The Patient Accounts Coordinator reports to the Billing Supervisor and Operations Manager and handles all stages of the revenue cycle management. This includes the following tasks:
- Submitting of all claims electronically via TheraNest within 1 business day of date of service
- Collecting of patient payments within 1 business day of date of service
- Matching bank payments and ERA’s (electronic remittance advice) and posting to client accounts within 2 business days of payment received
- EFT management - Follow-up with payors via phone as necessary on any troublesome EFT’s (ie paid ERA’s no payment, payment no ERA, etc); manage any other requests necessary for maintaining EFT’s on contracts
- Weekly review of and follow up of past due patient invoices (via aging invoice report in theranest)
- Weekly review and follow up of insurance payments more than 30 days past due (via aging invoice report in theranest) – submission to collections agency 1x/month
- Weekly follow up on denied claims – edit and resubmit claims as needed; may require contacting insurance company for claims follow up
- Monthly eligibility checks for existing clients – on the 1st of every month verifying all clients eligibility and plans - updating deductible where applicable, indicating in clients chart that monthly eligibility was verified
- Monitoring utilization for EAP clients when billing
- Documenting and Informing patients of any changes to copays/patient responsibility
- Monitoring and submitting claims to secondary insurance where applicable
- Responding to patient account inquiries (questions about copayments, credit card charges, etc)
- Reconciling Patient Accounts
- secondary benefits check/consult for new patients if needed
- Confirm benefits with insurer and make any necessary adjustments in patients chart based on actual claim payments or non-payment. Inform of adjustment and process refund or additional charge.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 1 year experience with Revenue Cycle Management
Must have 1 year experience in Behavioral Health Billing
Experience in TheraNest EHR a plus.
Spanish Speaking a plus.
Must work well independently.

Compensation:
$18 - $21 per hour with opportunities for growth
