The Role x You
Refinery29 has the unique distinction of being a leading retailer’s strategic cultural and talent partner. This means that we have a dedicated team built for that partner, composed of cultural strategists, creatives, talent and influence experts and client service leads. We are further supported by finance, legal and production resources. Our objective is to support our client’s mission to connect meaningfully and authentically with their guests.
The Client Service & Strategy skill set at Refinery29 and for this partner is critical. We are the day-to-day leads, guiding the development and execution of all work and strategic responses. We engage with our client partners daily and it is our role to understand the nuances of each brief and strategic response. We are responsible for being both the macro and micro thinkers for this business and it is our job to anticipate questions, examine a strategy from all sides and know what comes next as it pertains to the management of a campaign.
We are currently looking for an Account Director to join our Client Service & Strategy team. This position can be based either in New York City, Los Angeles or Minneapolis, MN. It will require a hybrid work schedule. This is a 6-month long contract, at a rate of $3,600 - $4,000 weekly or $89-$100 an hour.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day client lead and project manager on execution of a variety of talent-led campaigns
- Be an expert on the client’s business, understand all intricacies of a brief, be forward thinking and ensure the questions our team has are asked prior to larger briefings and/or meetings
- Set cross functional team meeting agendas, plan project timelines and deliverables directly with clients, initiate weekly status recaps
- Manage the workflow and output of active and pending projects for the internal R29 team
- Help steer strategic responses - with a clear perspective on how insights, creative, talent and measurement all play a vital role in body of work
- Route work through client for approval and effectively disseminate feedback to the team
- Maintain awareness of cultural trends, social media platform changes, the competitive landscape
Qualifications:
- 10+ Years experience in a similar client facing role at a media/creative agency, rights holder or publisher.
- Experience in delivering strategic brand partnership programs across digital, editorial, and video, as well as wrap report for clients
- Detail and solutions oriented
- Supreme project management skills
- Above average storytelling skills
- Familiar with creative strategy, creative ideation
- Experience working with production, video and photo
- Excellent understanding of digital advertising and the media landscape
- Working knowledge in how talent places a role in strategic marketing is a must - creator, celebrity, influence is preferred
- Previous experience in multicultural marketing is a plus
