Professional Services Manager
NextAxiom launched a completely new product suite that is gaining wide acceptance in the nuclear power industry and US Department of Energy nuclear sites. To satisfy the growing demand for our software suite we need to expand our professional services organization to assist customers with multi-year transformations using our software for computer guided work. You will help build and manage our professional services team that services customers in the US, Canada, and Europe.

We are seeking a results-driven professional services manager to manage, train and assign staff to our projects. You will be determining personnel requirements, providing ongoing support to project managers, and collaborating on resource management with multiple teams within our organization. You will also be expected to assist in growing the professional services organization by hiring, mentoring and cross training members of the team.
To ensure success as a manager, you should possess extensive knowledge of resource allocation and ideally have experience with implementing commercial enterprise software within the utility industry or other industrial market. This resource manager will be someone who can accurately assess resource needs and provide sufficient capacity to realize projects' goals. They will be expected to identify opportunities to increase utilization and develop talent and capabilities within the team as it grows.
Manager Responsibilities:
Assigning available staff to projects based on their skills and experience.
Hiring new staff in accordance with project budgets and forecasts.
Providing project managers with ongoing resource management and related support.
Monitoring employee utilization, workload, and overtime hours.
Mitigating resource concerns by reallocating resources, adjusting goals, or assigning additional staff.
Assisting with HR-processes, such as payroll administration, compensation and benefit plans, and staff training.
Collaborating on resource management with internal departments.
Documenting processes and maintaining records.
Keeping informed on labor laws and trends in resource management.
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines and allocating resources
Strong skills in managing Scope control and change management.
Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
Assisting in the definition of project scope, goals, critical success factors and measurement criteria
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, human resources management, or business management.
At least four years' experience in resource/project management with enterprise industrial software.
Experience in managing budgets.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., agile/scrum/waterfall)
