The USC Department of Facilities Planning and Management (FPM)—Controls, Finance,and Administration seeks a Quality Assurance Director to join its team.
Role Overview:
The USC FPM department seeks a dynamic Quality Assurance Director to spearhead the planning, development, and enforcement of construction quality assurance and quality control systems, policies, and procedures. This pivotal role involves conducting internal and external audits, leading quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and monitor quality assurance/control systems, ensuring regulation compliance.
- Establish and guide teams for inspections, testing, and operational control, including construction projects.
- Develop training programs to ensure staff are well-versed in project roles, responsibilities, and processes.
- Participate in daily operations and decision-making for quality management functions.
- Perform audits to maintain quality control requirements; manage non-conformance processes.
- Provide oversight of QC teams on projects for contract compliance; analyze data for trend identification and risk mitigation.
- Stay abreast of industry developments to maintain expertise.
- Promote an inclusive work environment in alignment with USC’s Code of Ethics.
Emergency Response Expectation:
In emergencies, incumbents must report to duty per the university’s Emergency Operations Plan and the department's emergency response/recovery plans.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (subject to change based on business needs).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in healthcare management.
- Certifications: CPHQ (NAHQ), Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001.
- Experience with organizational redesigns, transitions, and change initiatives.
- Proficiency in audit, control, and monitoring processes.
- Leadership in quality improvement programs, risk management, and understanding of healthcare quality improvement principles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or combined experience/education as a substitute).
- 10+ years in quality assurance/control in construction or public sector roles.
- Extensive knowledge of industry practices/standards, including critical path method scheduling.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., e-Builder), Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in document control plans and regulatory codes compliance.
- Active, valid, unrestricted CA Driver's License.
Salary Range:
$168,442.00 - $180,000.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
