Our focus is on improving literacy through social studies with rigorous, inquiry-based learning methods. We believe in empowering students to think historically, analyze information effectively, and write persuasively to promote equity in their lives and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Design: Develop comprehensive and inquiry-based curriculum materials in World History.
Content Development: Create rigorous, inquiry-based methods for learning, analyzing documents, engaging with materials, and writing essays for middle and high school students.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Curriculum and other stakeholders to gather input and feedback throughout the curriculum development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or History (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching in social studies
- Proven experience in curriculum writing and development, with a strong portfolio of educational
- content.
- Particular experience with world history
- Deep understanding of educational standards (e.g., Common Core, state standards) and curriculum
- frameworks.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in instructional design principles and educational technology tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Knowledge of historical content and principles of inquiry-based learning
