The Quality Manager is responsible for the development, management, and ongoing improvement of the quality management system.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality department; manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff.
- Oversee the development of control plans, Quality operating procedures, work instructions, and quality measures.
- Tracks and reports on quality issues and costs associated with quality issues.
- Tracks supplier performance and works with suppliers to ensure that they attain a high level of quality that is expected by our organization
- Identify opportunities for improvement and initiating new programs as well as corrective and preventative actions; oversees and manages the corrective action process with the organization
- Prepare reports that outline improvement activities, corrective actions, warranty status and any actions on warranty items
- Work closely with engineering to develop proper gaging and standardized component inspection
- Development, maintenance, and communication of business wide scorecard for quality goals and objectives
- Work with sales and service to provide a resource on Warranty issues; documenting issues, findings, and actions taken
- Supports other parts of the organization as a subject matter expert on quality related issues and improvement activities
