What You Can Expect
- Ability to work a Hybrid schedule
- Owns the data strategy and data enablement framework for the enterprise, people, process, policies, and technology.
- Oversee the development of a modern data architecture that includes data ingestion, data processing, and data storage.
- Define and reinforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and maintainability across all data analytics solutions on-prem and in the cloud.
- Provide thought leadership and enablement for entire department to leverage data and analytics tools and platforms to the fullest.
- Design a data engineering architecture roadmap for the organization and take ownership of executing the vision set forth in partnership with IS leadership and peers within the department.
- Effectively manage vendor and partner relationships related to products, tools, platform, and people to ensure strong alignment with organizational needs and cost constraints.
- Establish a strong collaboration within the team across data architecture, engineering, archiving, and integration functions to ensure optimal use or resources and technology.
- Hire, retain, and grow a team of managers, data engineers, data architects, as well as managed service resources to build out and maintain a robust data foundation for the organization.
- Stay up to date on the latest data analytics trends and technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously evolve and improve the organizations data architecture capabilities and improve internal processes.
- Develop deep partnerships with other Information Service engineering and product teams to deliver on major cross-functional initiatives requiring data and information.
- Maintain ownership and contribute expertise to technology planning, tool selection, platform management, and upgrade discussions and decisions as they relate to data architecture and management.
- Create and support a culture of employee engagement, accountability, innovation, continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Ensure consistent and standardized design, development, and deployment of code and content using DevOps and DataOps best practices and tools.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection, regulations, and industry standards.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data within and outside the organizational systems.
- Work closely with enterprise analytics and governance teams within the division to support the design and maintenance of and effective data warehouse to solve business needs as well as strong governance and controls.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Management, Information Services, or related field - Required -OR-
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare Management, Information Services, or related field with 5 years of additional relevant work experience can be substituted in place of the Master's degree requirement. - Required -AND-
- 8 years hands-on work experience with data engineering and architecture with a strong track record of designing and implementing data analytics solutions and platforms - Required
- 5 years leading and managing a technical team of data and information management professionals - Required
- 5 years Strong knowledge of SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server platform, as well as data integration and transformation tools - Required
- 5 years Experience with multiple key systems in use or equivalent products such as: Informatica, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, SAS etc. - Preferred
- 5 years Epic EMR - Cogito tools/platform - Preferred
