Summary
The Training and Engagement Manager is a mid to senior level strategic position within a growing company focused on the development of a highly skilled and engaged workforce. In this role, the Training and Engagement Manager will lead the organization's drive towards Best in Class Logistics through strategic application of programs and partnership with the organization's leadership team - including Operations, Safety, Human Resources, and Project Management, to ensure the development and advancement of our workplace culture with a heavy focus in curriculum and engagement strategy development .
Essential Duties
- Utilize data to identify opportunities and gaps in training and engagement, and create a strategy to address those gaps. Coordinate with Operations, Project Management, Safety, and HR Teams to drive buy in and implement those programs.
- Provide insight and strategic alignment that influences our overall culture and engagement strategy.
- Develop, promote and drive employee development and empowerment programs, including but not limited to: new and current employees, employee experience, engagement and culture, process improvements, and application of best practices.
- Develop, fine-tune and own the process of a best in class onboarding experience.
- Implementation and development of growth and development training programs to include ergonomics, new industry regulations, best practices, and management development.
- Promote a high performing team environment using systems, tools and technology, and relationships with our employees to identify trends and solve problems within a diverse and inclusive culture that includes staff training and development, best practices and new protocols.
- Support the Operations, Safety and Human Resources team by developing training, safety and employee engagement initiatives, as well as the coordination of training schedules and conferences across multiple regions and facilities.
- Serve as an advocate for the frontline operations team, with a heavy focus on our Driving Associates. Help to develop positive employee experiences, and convey frontline employee’s stories that positively impact the workforce and the Standard Logistics community at large.
- Create, proof-read, and coordinate internal communications initiatives
- Development of internal recognition and engagement programs such as Driver of the year, Driver Olympics, and Proactive Safety Participation Awards programs.
- Other Duties as assigned
We Require
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of relevant Training and Program Development, Engagement Management, or Organization Consultation Experience.
We Prefer
- Advanced Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Supply Chain or Business Management preferred
- 7+ years of relevant Training and Program Development, Engagement Management, or Organization Consultation Experience.
- Demonstrated success in building strong inclusive and diverse teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
- Demonstrated experience of successful learning and development facilitation
- Experience developing curriculum in a course writing software, such as Articulate360
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal policy and requirements
