RockawayMore is seeking a Public Relations Copywriter who is experienced in the Food & Beverage industry. This teammate would be responsible for writing compelling written content for press releases, media alerts, bios, and boilerplates, specifically tailored to our culinary and hospitality clients.

Job Role
As a Public Relations Copywriter for RockawayMore, you will create compelling written content for press releases, media alerts, bios, and boilerplates, specifically tailored to our culinary and hospitality clients. Your expertise in crafting persuasive headlines and engaging body copy will be essential in driving conversions and boosting brand and initiative awareness. You will play a key role in defining and maintaining the brand’s voice, tone, and style, ensuring consistency across all communications.
In this role, you will drive your assignments, contribute to the governance of our voice and style, and develop a deep understanding of our business operations. Staying up to date with the latest culinary trends and restaurant openings in the industry will be crucial, as will building effective relationships with marketing teams. Above all, you are passionate about the creative process and enjoy developing solutions that have a tangible business impact and strengthen the connection between a brand and its consumers.
Qualifications
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of copywriting principles, style, and grammar, with proficiency in AP style and Merriam-Webster guidelines.
- A keen understanding of the language, goals, and needs of our audiences.
- Ability to adapt writing to different tones of voice, ensuring consistency across various platforms and audiences.
- Capable of evaluating your own work critically, making necessary edits for clarity, impact, and coherence.
- Advocate for copywriting needs, offering creative insights and overseeing projects to ensure they align with strategic goals.
- Utilize SEO best practices and keyword knowledge to optimize content without sacrificing readability or grammatical integrity.
- Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork, contributing to a positive, curious, and open work environment.
- Experience in writing PR-focused content, including fact sheets, biographies, press releases, media alerts, and boilerplates.
- Craft engaging and newsworthy press releases that capture the attention of journalists and media outlets.
- Collaborate with the PR team to create content that supports media outreach efforts, product launches, and corporate communications.
- Skilled in producing administrative content such as company handbooks, policies and procedures, and internal news and announcements.
- Work closely with project managers, PR teams, and other creatives to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring projects meet team and company needs.
- Effectively manage your own workload, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality content consistently.
- Edit and proofread content shared by the PR team for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional writing experience with a focus in public relations
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups at all levels
- Proven track record of developing successful campaigns
- Passion for restaurants and the food community a plus
