Job Overview:
The Writing School Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and creative Digital Marketing and Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time) to develop and execute digital marketing strategies and outreach efforts that support the school’s educational mission. This role will be responsible for increasing awareness, engaging prospective students and families, and supporting enrollment efforts for our spring and summer programs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing digital marketing campaigns, creating engaging content, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies across various platforms (social media, email marketing, website).
- Content Creation: Create and manage content for social media, email campaigns, and the school's website to engage target audiences.
- Social Media Management: Maintain and grow social media presence on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- SEO & Web Management: Optimize website content for search engines (SEO) and manage updates on the school's website to ensure alignment with marketing goals.
- Email Campaigns: Design and send regular email newsletters and targeted marketing emails to prospective students and partners.
- Outreach Coordination: Assist with coordinating community outreach events, partnerships, and initiatives to build relationships with local organizations and schools.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track and analyze campaign performance across channels, providing reports and insights to improve effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work with the leadership team to align marketing efforts with The Writing School’s strategic goals and enrollment targets.
- Campaign Management: Plan and execute marketing campaigns, including setting objectives, defining target audiences, budgeting, and measuring outcomes.
- Content Scheduling: Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posts and campaigns.
- Audience Engagement: Respond to comments and messages on social media platforms to foster community engagement and address inquiries promptly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of digital marketing experience, including social media, email marketing, and website management.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and tools like Hootsuite or Buffer.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO best practices, and email marketing platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of graphic design principles and ability to create simple graphics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of digital marketing experience, particularly in the education or nonprofit sector.
- Experience with paid digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
- Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, HubSpot.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Spark, or Photoshop.
- Proven experience in community outreach and partnership building.
- A passion for education and working with diverse communities.
- Experience with video content creation and editing.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and database management.
Salary and Compensation:
Market Rate: $25 - $40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
The Writing School Inc. Rate: $40-$100 an hour, depending on experience and qualifications

- Campaign Performance: Measure the success of marketing campaigns through key performance indicators (KPIs) such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and ROI.

- Website Traffic: Monitor and increase website visits, page views, and time spent on site.
- Lead Generation: Generate and nurture leads through email campaigns and outreach efforts.
- Enrollment Support: Contribute to achieving enrollment targets through effective marketing and outreach strategies.
- Brand Awareness: Increase brand recognition and positive sentiment in the community.
