Our client, a well-known retail apparel company, is looking for a Data Warehouse Architect & ETL Developer to join their team for a remote 12-month contract.

We need a Data Mart Model Designer & ETL Developer to design, implement, and maintain data mart models and ETL processes. This role involves aligning source systems with data marts, writing and managing ETL code, and ensuring accurate data validation and transformation. You’ll work with various teams and handle profiling, metadata, and business rules in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data mart models.
- Map and align source system models with data mart models.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) code.
- Define, capture, and document ETL metadata, business rules, and validation processes.
- Profile source systems to ensure data integrity and accurate mapping.
- Develop and maintain ETL validation logic and ensure the accuracy of data transformations.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability in high-availability, large-scale data warehouse environments.
- Collaborate closely with business users and lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong experience in dimensional data modeling.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale, high-availability data warehouse environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and Oracle with hands-on experience in writing complex transformation logic using PL/SQL for ETL business rules.
- Experience with STAR schema design and ETL tools, particularly IBM Datastage.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and SQL performance tuning in Oracle environments.
- Familiarity with the software development life cycle, including Agile methodologies.
- Experience with DataStage ETL tools (preferred).
- Proficiency in MicroStrategy (strong plus).
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to discuss project scope with business users.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in shell scripting, SQL, XML parsing, and Unix environments.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse technologies, including Oracle, DB2, and IBM DataStage.
- Experience in an Agile development environment (a plus).
