Job Summary
A Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and administering an organizations computer network. This includes installing and configuring network hardware and software, monitoring network performance, and ensuring network security and connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
Install and configure network hardware and software.
Maintain, repair, and upgrade network and server systems.
Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments are needed.
Ensure network connectivity throughout the organizations LAN/WAN infrastructure.
Create and manage network users, user environments, directories, and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
Implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
Support and administer third-party applications.
Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
Define network policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Proven 1-3 years of experience in a network administrator role.
Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching.
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and remote implementation.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar.
Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with network analysis tools.
