Assistant Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to read construction drawings and will be organized, attentive to details, solutions oriented, and driven to satisfy client and project needs. As a Project Manager, you will manage the project team, schedule, and focus on supporting the project team as an integral point of contact. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible to keep his/her team on track. Determines meeting times for their team.
- Responsible to move the Project forward and to succeed in having happy customers.
- Reporting issues/problems/successes to Management. Escalation Channel, i.e., act as a conduit to escalate any matter that cannot be resolved. Urgent and Critical matters are communicated to the management.
- Ensuring QA and standard of work exceeds or is up-to Client expectations together with his/her team.
- Identifying and developing new opportunities with Clients' expectations together with his/her team.
- Creating Critical Path Schedule with their team and ensuring the Project is on schedule.
- Resolving issues with the team once highlighted.
- Evaluate submitted bids from the sub-contractors for change-orders.
- Timely award LOI and Purchase Orders to the sub-contractors based on Management approval.
- Facilitating and finalizing change requests and ensuring that all parties are informed of the impacts on Schedule and Budget.
- Reports Actual vs. Estimated Targets and conclusions to Management.
- Responsible for post-project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Evaluates and reports to Management the level of overall Customer Satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Valid Class G driver's license and clean driving record- Must provide driver's abstract
- Academic background in Engineering.
- 3 to 10 years of experience in a progressive construction environment.
- In depth knowledge of the construction industry, including but not limited to building materials, methods and procedures, applicable building codes, and construction laws.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing health and safety procedures in the workplace in accordance to legislation.
- Strong leadership, planning, and time management skills to effectively manage project budgets and schedules.
Additional:
- 2-5 years of construction experience is an asset
- TTC experience is an asset
