Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Residential Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our compassionate team at Compass Health Network, where you will play a vital role in providing medical consultation and medication management for our adult and youth residential programs. In response to the urgent healthcare demands of the communities we serve, we are proud to offer a $4,000 sign-on bonus.* This full-time, benefit-eligible position operates during evening hours from Tuesday to Friday and every other Saturday, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with required on-call rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments as mandated by contracts
- Monitor health needs and post-acute withdrawal symptoms
- Engage with consumers regarding medical concerns
- Assess and manage medication conditions arising during treatment
- Arrange medication appointments and liaise with attending physicians as necessary
- Handle medical emergencies effectively
- Address special dietary requirements for medical needs
- Provide individualized assistance for consumers accessing mental health services, including accompanying them to appointments
- Review medication prescriptions with consumers and confirm with physicians or pharmacies
- Educate consumers on medication usage and clarify instructions
- Oversee self-administration of medication
- Train staff on self-administration protocols, CLIA, biohazard material handling, and other necessary training
- Perform blood draws and manage lab orders
- Consult on over-the-counter medications and monitor their application
- Administer therapeutic injections, both subcutaneous and intramuscular
- Monitor lab levels and collaborate with physicians
- Coordinate medication needs with pharmacies, consumers, and families
- Set up medication boxes and lead psycho-education groups related to health issues
- Provide staff in-services on medical-related topics
- Execute other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing is required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred
- Licensure/certification: LPN licensed in Missouri is required; RN licensed in Missouri is preferred, or GPN must successfully pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
