As a Software Architect, you set the tone for code quality and correctness. You use your expertise to determine the appropriate use of architecture, design patterns, and provide mentorship for other Android engineers on the team. You can switch context and tailor your day to priority changes as needed. You are a master of your craft and able to dive into code, documentation, or technical specs to pursue the simplest solution.
While there’s always something exciting to work on, you will focus on the following:
- Architecting and developing scalable, modular, branded app solutions for customers across a variety of industry verticals
- Building and maintaining library components for internal and external usage
- Improving deployment, test automation, and continuous integration pipelines
- Ensuring Android Best Practices are followed
- Communicating with other departments and articulating why things should be built a certain way
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of Android Engineering experience
- Solid experience with Kotlin
- Solid experience with Jetpack Compose
- Solid experience with Material Design (M3)
- Solid experience building and submitting Android apps to Google Play
- Proficiency with Java
- Familiarity with Jenkins
- Solid experience with Android Studio, Maven, and Gradle
- Experience with Git
- Familiarity with Agile processes
- Experience with JIRA or other ticketing solutions
- Experience working as part of a larger team that opens pull requests and performs code reviews
Desired Qualifications
- Experience building reusable libraries
- Experience using Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience writing Jenkins build scripts
