We are seeking a driven Business Development candidate in the Southern California area to expand and strengthen our market presence. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is an outside sales position reporting from our Southern California office, responsible for promoting products and services, building relationships with new and existing clients, and expanding Xobee’s market presence. The main focus is to help our clients succeed while achieving ambitious sales and profit goals established by the Company.
Please note: You will face rejection more often than acceptance. Success often relies on sheer volume, and the emotional ups and downs can be intense. The sales role comes with high expectations and quotas, leading to stress and burnout if not managed well. Some products or services have lengthy sales processes, meaning you might invest significant time before seeing results. Additionally, you'll need to generate your own leads rather than relying solely on the company.
You will also be competing against technology for leads and bonuses. Understanding our commission plans can be tricky, as various metrics affect your earnings. Clients may switch providers for better pricing or service, requiring you to continually prove your value. In addition to selling, you will be responsible for customer service, account management, and marketing efforts. Navigating the company's products and services may take time and be difficult, and you may face developing department and CRM challenges, meaning self-management is key. You may need to bring a book of clients to get yourself started.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales and Client Acquisition:
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present tailored proposals to potential clients.
- Focus on high-value account management and key client acquisition strategies.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
- Pursue upselling opportunities and assist with client re-contracting.
- Resolve client concerns and handle billing discrepancies related to sales.
Project Coordination Support:
- Coordinate with technicians as needed on client-specific projects.
- Keep clients informed about the progress of sales-related projects.
Outreach and Networking:
- Visit potential and existing client sites for relationship building and sales closure.
- Utilize networking and social media for business development.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior sales consultants.
- Lead by example in sales strategies and client interactions.
Advanced Negotiation and Deal Closing:
- Handle complex negotiations and high-stakes deals.
- Utilize expertise in closing large contracts and managing major sales.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one year of sales experience, preferably in an IT-related field.
- Proven experience in direct sales and client relationship management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly motivated and target-driven.
- Knowledge of industry-specific tools and technology.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word.
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
COMPENSATION:
This is an Outside Sales Exempt position. Base salary will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, and other position-related factors. The salary range listed includes all compensation, including commissions and bonuses.

Must be able to speak clearly and articulately in person and over the phone and read materials either printed or on a computer screen of various sizes and fonts. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to drive your own vehicle. Must have the physical, emotional, and mental ability to manage stress and maintain attention to detail and accuracy despite interruptions.
