Position Overview:
In-Telecom is seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to handle all projects for one of our largest customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing technical projects, particularly in the telecommunications or IT industry, with an understanding of telecommunication technologies. This position requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to successfully guide projects from inception to completion.
This position will work closely the project engineers, to ensure that the project deliverables are met within the scope, budget, and timeline. The Project Manager will also work closely and communicate with the clients, stakeholders, and other internal teams throughout each project lifecycle.
This is a remote position. Must travel to customer sites once a quarter or as needed to strengthen relationships, gain insights into their evolving needs, and foster collaboration for ongoing project success.
This role is integral to ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality IT solutions, requiring a proactive individual who can effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project engineers, developers, vendors, and stakeholders, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate and manage the scheduling of project resources, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization to meet project deadlines and objectives efficiently.
- Navigate complex change control processes and organizational red tape, ensuring compliance with company policies and effectively managing adjustments to project scope, timelines, and resources in a large corporate environment.
Technical Expertise:
- Leverage an understanding of high-level telecommunications technologies and provide insight into project requirements.
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in telecommunications to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and performance in projects.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes.
- Conduct meetings with internal teams, clients, and vendors to gather requirements, define project goals, and communicate progress.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, including technical challenges, resource constraints, and timeline delays.
- Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen issues and ensure project continuity.
Budget Management and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that expenses remain within approved limits.
- Provide regular financial reporting to stakeholders, highlighting cost-effective measures and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate project forecasts, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements, to ensure successful project delivery and proactive risk management.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that solutions meet the defined standards and client requirements.
- Facilitate testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues related to implementation.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Document technical specifications and operational processes for ongoing support and maintenance of systems throughout the project lifecycle as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the telecommunications or other IT industry
- Proven experience in managing projects involving Avaya enterprise voice solutions, such as Avaya Aura, Avaya Contact Center, and other Avaya unified communications technologies is a plus.
- Proven experience managing projects involving Cisco voice technologies, such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, Webex, IP telephony, and VoIP infrastructure is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- CompTIA Project+, CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Familiarity with change control and navigating complex procedures and regulatory requirements in large corporate environments.
