Job Summary
The Packaging Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the packaging operations within our facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that all packaging processes comply with industry standards, including FDA regulations and CGMP practices. The Package Manager will lead a team to assemble, package, and fabricate products while maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.
The Project Manager is responsible for reviewing and managing packaging and design requests, creating and managing timelines, workload allocation and planning, as well as managing communications across cross-functional teams and vendors. The Project Manager has end-to-end responsibility including quality control checks throughout the different stages, and review proofs, audits specification adherence, and coordinate reviews and final approvals to proceed to print.
Position Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
· Manages multiple brand launches simultaneously including review of graphic designs, product specifications, raw material lead times, logistics, costs, government agency compliance, change order management, vendor management, and production planning.
· Possesses print production and/or design background, experience in new product development, packaging, and printing of Consumer Packaged Goods. Works closely with external vendors, consolidates project communications, provides timely status updates, and can work with minimal supervision.
· Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and on budget in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Is organized, detail oriented, and experienced supporting and managing creative design projects.
Duties
- Oversee the packaging process to ensure compliance with FDA regulations and CGMP standards.
- Manage the assembly and packaging of products, ensuring quality and efficiency in operations.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain packaging machinery, including logic controllers.
- Operate forklifts safely to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Train and supervise team members on proper packaging techniques and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of packaged goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of packaging processes and inventory levels.
Skills
- Strong understanding of CGMP practices and FDA regulations related to packaging.
- Proficiency in assembling and fabricating products using hand tools and machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality control.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while leading by example.
- Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking abilities.
