The Principal Analyst - Pricing will be the subject matter expert of pricing for the US Orthopedics business unit and will partner with multiple teams such as sales, marketing, and finance. This position will review pricing quotes for existing and new accounts to ensure alignment with our divisional pricing strategy. This is a highly visible role and will require the successful candidate to develop a deep understanding of our products and operations to provide strategic insights into potential pricing strategies. This position will also ensure processes are documented, maintained, and streamlined, while assisting with pricing reviews, decreasing price discrepancies, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Duites And Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our current business and pricing landscape, partner with various business leads and the Finance team to implement an updated and streamlined pricing review and approval process for the business unit
- Partner closely with the Sales and National Accounts teams to provide analytical support, reporting, and answer pricing inquiries on a regular basis. Act as project manager for the business unit and provide analytical support & guidance for strategic GPO/IDN bid opportunities
- Perform detailed revenue management and sales analytics to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies and build sophisticated financial models to project the impacts of pricing adjustments on revenue, profitability, and market share
- Develop reports & analytics to support executive leadership and the commercial teams by highlighting intuitive business trends and strategies. Build & maintain a pricing KPI dashboard
- Facilitates periodic reviews of pricing by performing historical assessments, financial and margin analysis, and documenting the applicable management approvals. While ensuring pricing is aligned across health networks to effectively reduce price discrepancies.
- Request, manage, and complete user acceptance testing for software enhancements needed to improve existing processes and user experience in our existing CPQ system. Monitor enhancements to ensure acceptance/adoption of changes.
- Respond to custom pricing requests for advanced-stage deals and deliver custom pricing based on a deal’s unique features; anticipate the consequences of price changes and business decisions while weighing multiple factors and review as appropriate with management.
- Perform other related duties as required by management.
Minimum Requirements
- BS/BA in Finance or a related discipline
- 3-5 years related experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Requirements
- MBA or CPA
- Medical device experience
Other Attributes
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving, and decision-making abilities; including the ability to identify trends and problems.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and computer skills since detailed data manipulation of large data sets is required.
- Expertise with other data visualization/reporting platforms (Tableau and/or PowerBI).
This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship. Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range is 72,000-115,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
