We are seeking an Sr. Project Manager to join our Construction team. We are a family owned and operated company that has been in business for over 65 years. Since 1958 we have been constructing and operating rental apartment towers across Southwestern Ontario and proving homes to thousands of Canadians.
As a Sr. Project Manager, your responsibility will include:
· Close working relationship with site supervisors acting as a key liaison and support
· Organize daily construction operations
· Plan and prepare construction schedules and monitor progress against established schedules
· Select trade subcontractors and coordinate and oversee activities
· Involved in the planning of per-construction projects by coordinating subcontractor pricing, preparation of tenders and bid reviews
· Assist in preparation of construction project budget estimates
· Negotiate contracts and revisions as well as participate in reviews with architects, engineers and suppliers
· Oversee and direct quality control programs
· Participate in Health and Safety and Occupational practices and regulations on all projects and construction sites
· Consistently provide experience and cost-effective based solutions to construction issues
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5-8 years of practical work experience as a high- rise construction Project Manager
· Experience with estimating, purchasing, tenders, vendor and contract negotiations (consultants, trades), invoicing
· Experience supervising all disciplines and sub-trades (including both employees and external contractors and trades people)
· Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills
· Must have current understanding of construction industry practices, Ontario Building Code, OHSA and Safety regulations
· Excellent budgeting, costing and scheduling skills
