Power System Engineer - Renewable Energy Projects (Open to Expats)

Responsibilities
- Power System Analysis: Perform modeling and analysis using PSSE, PSCAD, and Power Factory for faults, load flow, harmonics, and dynamic assessments in distribution and transmission systems.
- Compliance and Benchmarking: Conduct Model Acceptance Tests, GPS compliance studies, and maintain adherence to the National Electricity Rules (NER).
- Collaboration and Support: Work with internal stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for integrating renewable energy and provide technical support for project delivery.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering documents, analysis reports, proposals, and maintain Australia-specific documentation for wind turbines.
- Strategy Development: Develop optimized connection strategies with Network Service Providers (NSPs) for off-grid, BESS, and hybrid projects, ensuring robust grid integration.
Requirements
- Min Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or similar).
- Excellent knowledge of power systems analysis software packages, including PSS/E, PSCAD, and Dig Silent (Power Factory), along with Python automation skills. Classification: Internal Purpose
- Familiarity with HV electrical equipment, control systems, SCADA, protection, and metering.
- More than 3 years’ experience as a power systems engineer
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills including excellent knowledge of MS Office.
