The Role
Our culture and team make us who we are. We’re looking for a passionate and process-minded operator to join us to grow and foster our team. This position is hybrid in San Francisco (at least 3 days in the office with leaders and builders). You’ll implement company-wide strategic projects to build a world-class environment.
In this role you will:
- Own and run the People & Talent function end-to-end. As the first HR hire, you’ll work closely with the leadership team to set up foundational processes and playbooks for rapidly hiring new team members and executing on our people strategy.
- Grow all-star people team. You’re excited to lead and manage an impactful team of people builders guided by strong values and empathy. You’ll help continue to build out your team and work stream as we continue to scale and enter new markets from payroll, benefits management, recruitment, onboarding, retention, and more.
- Build for Scale and Flexibility. We have grown exceptionally fast and expect that growth to continue to accelerate. That growth comes with the complexity of requirements that differ across the United States. You’ll collaborate closely with leaders to best balance optimal patient experience with varying regulatory requirements and that will support hypergrowth. It’s an interesting challenge that keeps us going everyday.
- Partner with operations, clinical, and product teams across the company. You'll be a critical voice for shaping different types of teams from supporting engineers, to clinicians, and to even corporate leaders.

The Requirements
We index on your experience, leadership, and hustle.
- At least 4 years of HR and/or talent experience. You’ve worked in human resources, recruiting, or in fast-paced company. Bonus points if you worked in healthcare or a high-growth startup
- Experience managing and structuring a HR team of up to 5 people. You’re a stellar leader and recruiting magnet when it comes to running a high-velocity People function.
- Experience with setting strategic direction. You’ll understand the company’s mission, influence strategic objectives, and guide your team to execute toward measurable growth goals.
- Experience in business analytics and metrics. You’re data driven and use that to inform your decisions.
- Excitement to get in the weeds and extreme hustle is needed. We are an early stage startup after all, and therefore, this could mean putting out fires on the weekend or diving into the smallest technical details. Everyone on the team is relentless about delivering their best work.
- 100% Commitment. This must be your full time and top commitment (not part time). This role has great opportunities for growth alongside the company, and your plan is to grow with it for the next 1-2 years. This role isn't suitable for people who have a side hustle at this time.
