The IT Project Manager is crucial in delivering high-quality solutions. The PM manages projects through all phases, from planning to post-launch support, collaborating with IT teams to establish plans and timelines. This role focuses on managing the project to achieve Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance. The PM will maintain project plans, drive milestone and task completion, manage project issues, track progress, and compile status updates for leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years leading projects in large environments, preferably IT projects
- Experience in a matrixed operating model, managing multiple IT and business stakeholders
Strong proven experienced in structured, detail-oriented Project Management:
- Strong ability to plan and execute a project throughout the lifecycle
- Experience with business justification, project budgeting, and tracking resource burn rates
- Proficient in program/ project portfolio management standards, tools, and techniques
- Effective listening skills to determine business needs and drive technical solutions
- Leadership of diverse business and technical teams across multi-site environments
- Experience managing IT projects involving multiple applications and technology platforms
Possess strong professional and technical competencies including:
- Strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- Quick learner on varied technical platforms, forward-looking on emerging technologies
- Ability to explain complex technology in business terms
- PMP, Agile, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification (a plus)
- Global manufacturing industry experience (a plus)
- Vendor management skills (a plus)
Description
- Lead and manage projects to ensure deliverables, timelines, and resource constraints are met, adhering to PMO policies and standards.
- Establish project scope, requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Managers, technical and functional staff, and business partners to define key milestones, detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and task lists, including resource assignments.
- Engage and manage vendors as needed.
- Establish project budgets, track spending, and communicate current and projected burn rates.
- Coordinate IT applications, infrastructure, and operations resources per project demands.
- Define and communicate roles for project team members and stakeholders.
- Set up a clear communication cadence for team members and stakeholders, provide routine status reports, and escalate issues to the steering team as needed.
- Drive milestones, tasks and issues completion, with high quality, on time, on budget
- Define user acceptance test criteria and plans, and coordinate testing events for successful solution signoff.
- Review and communicate project status, manage risks and issues, monitor business change readiness, ensure delivery of training and documentation, coordinate cutover/launch activities, provide post-Go-Live support, and conduct post-implementation reviews.
- Maintain and store project artifacts for transparency across team members and stakeholders.
- Advise the business on developing project justifications and assist in preparing investment requests for timely management approval.
- Manage IT resource capacity at various levels, providing routine and ad hoc budget-to-actual updates and projections.
- Oversee vendor relationships, performance, deliverables, reporting, and change management during projects.
- Ensure compliance with legal and audit standards for projects and deliverables.
- Mentor Client’s in-house project management staff
