Your Role
The Growth Strategy and Execution team is responsible for the orchestration of strategic planning across the eight lines of business that make up the Growth organization, as well as the execution of strategic and operational priorities for the Consumer lines of business. The Strategic Planning and Performance, Principal - Growth Strategy will report to the VP, Commercial Growth Strategy. In this role you will support the strategy function within the Growth Strategy team, including creating the high-level roadmap, driving the annual strategic planning process, and gaining senior executive alignment and support on priorities.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for planning and implementation of complex programs spanning across business areas which encompass multiple projects, initiatives, and where analysis requires evaluation of intangible variance factors
- Ensure strategic direction of program is in line and design strategies for alignment with goals and objectives
- Be responsible for facilitating annual strategic planning process
- Work in conjunction with financial partner’s complete business planning and forecasting
- Manage budget planning as part of the annual budget cycle
- Define approach and messaging to drive alignment and value proposition to build stakeholder understanding on overall multi-line Line of Business growth
- Maintain 3-5 year growth strategy roadmap for prioritized strategic initiatives
- Prepare and present Strategy Committee reporting, gain Senior Executive alignment on prioritized strategic decisions, considerations/risks, and next steps
- Facilitate the development of the Line of Business playbooks
- Drive Growth Strategy & Narrative, Line of Business Strategies, and Cross line of business priorities by pillar
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires ability to develop and drive strategy by organizing information coming from lines of Businesses
- Requires demonstrated experience working across organization to drive change in a matrixed environment, assessing marketplace opportunities for growth, and preparing and analyzing reports and dashboards and presenting to stakeholders or leadership
- Requires experience developing and maintaining growth strategy roadmaps
- Requires prior experience and understanding of the Healthcare industry with a focus on Payer and Provider
- Requires demonstrated excellence in crafting executive leadership level written communications via PowerPoint
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is: $145,970.00 to $218,900.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
