The Administrative/Event Assistant will assist the Race Director and Event Marketing Manager in the management of all aspects of OC Marathon events including OC Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K, the OC Fair Fun Run and the Run For a Claus event as well as Kids Run the OC Program.
Hours: Flexible weekday hours with occasional weekend events.
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Requirements:
- Located in the Orange County area, or ability to commute to Costa Mesa CA 5 days a week.
- Must possess an interest and excitement for running and endurance events.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) and Google Docs.
- Graphic Design related skills including use of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Customer service skills including interpersonal communication and problem solving.
- Detail oriented written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player and multitask in a fast paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
Duties include:
- Customer service related tasks including answering phones, responding to customer service emails and other inquiries.
- Assisting in setup/teardown, selling, and managing volunteers for expo activations at local Orange County races and/or events.
- Fulfillment of merchandise sales using Shipstation.
- Administrative Tasks including offline data entry, organizing mail, processing merchandise orders, etc.
- Communication and organization with sponsor deliverables.
- Assistance with charitable fundraising, corporate partners, and run clubs.
- Assist in managing social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.
- Manage and assist with marketing email campaigns in Mailchimp
- Website upkeep and maintenance (Squarespace, Wordpress, Godaddy)
Pay: $25.00/hr. (salary may be higher based on experience) with an opportunity for growth
