Position: Technical Project Manager
Location: Remote (Remote in the U.S. Preference for close proximity to HQ in Parsippany, NJ or near our coatings manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ.)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Overview:
As a Technical Project Manager, you will help lead and coordinate multiple programs across–and at the intersection points of–our Engineering & Technical and Customer Operations teams. This includes management of product development workflows for materials, mechanical systems, and digital systems and facilitating their testing in the lab and field.
The candidate will be responsible for planning, tracking, and delivering all project scope through project management, scope definition, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management.
This role requires high attention to detail as well as refined learning, observation, and discovery skills. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of one of our product categories, a fluency with both physical and digital products, a knack for seeing connections between tasks and workflows, and the ability to work closely and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
What you will do:
Coordinate and lead the work of cross-functional teams
Lead in scoping projects with product owners and lead engineers
Lead, participate, document, and manage technical project planning
Own and maintain our project management system across relevant works streams to help ensure:
Teams stay on time & on schedule
Cross-functional dependencies are identified and communicated
Risks are identified (early) and help coordinate a plan of response
Efficient & aligned resource allocation
Communicate releases and schedules within and between the teams, as well as to other stakeholders
Qualifications
You must have:
Background in software and/or hardware engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management
Established experience in leading customer-facing projects from concept to successful launch
Prior project or program management experience with multi-team, remote projects
Ability to keep improving and refining existing product development processes
Excellent analytical skills to understand the what and why of requirements thoroughly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to communicate the what and why thorough understanding and adapt style to the audience
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Systematic and organized way of working – effectively identify and set priorities for the tasks at hand and methodically drive things forward
Ability to attend morning EST meetings
Prior experience and proficiency in configuring and effectively leveraging project management tools such as JIRA, Monday.com, etc.
Nice to have:
Understanding of the end-to-end product development stack (electronics, mechanics, material, firmware, application, data, cloud)
Understanding of the product manufacturing and supply chain processes
Applied engineering experience in a technology and/or manufacturing environment
