Controller with Bookkeeping Responsibilities
Location: Aventura, Florida or Remote
Report to: CFO
Status: Regular Full-Time Employee
AbbaDox is seeking a highly experienced and versatile Controller with strong bookkeeping skills to lead the strategic financial planning and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our company. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, along with a proven track record in bookkeeping and financial management

Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, billing processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with GAAP and company standards.
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting software data entry, reconciliation, and report generation.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with the CFO on long-term budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, insurance providers, and vendors, including contract renewals and negotiations.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve financial processes and implement new tools/software as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is mandatory.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred but not required if significant bookkeeping experience is demonstrated.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong emphasis on bookkeeping, financial reporting, and management.
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and current financial regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in accounting and billing software, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other ERP systems.
- Experience in handling complex AP/AR, multi-bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage daily accounting tasks while focusing on long-term financial strategy.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
