Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. Position Overview
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive People Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The position will report to the Senior Director, People Operations and additionally maintains a secondary reporting line to the People Operations Generalist. The People Operations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the People Team, with a focus on onboarding, compliance, new hire and employee experience, administrative tasks, and back-end data tracking management. This role is a highly visible member in the office and organization, serving as a welcoming and approachable presence for all employees.
Roles & Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Coordinate new hire onboarding sessions and assist in the onboarding and compliance process, including managing paperwork, follow-up communications with new hires, training schedules, and introductions to team members
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding experience
- Drive the process for the new hire onboarding program (in-person) from end-to-end including logistics, team communications, new hire troubleshooting, and overall direct support for the People Team and new hires
- Ensure that all new hires have a positive onboarding experience from the moment they sign their offer letter
- Deliver excellent customer service through strong communication and follow-ups to ensure that new hires complete critical compliance tasks within the onboarding process
Compliance
- Assist with compliance requirements for the state of California and Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) background checks and membership standards (LiveScan, Checkr, mandated trainings, etc.) for new hires and existing employees
- Support in maintaining accurate and timely employee records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
- Support with regular audits of employee records to identify areas of non-compliance
- Support People Partners with offboarding duties as needed
Systems Management
- Support with maintaining the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to maintain accuracy and integrity of employee data
- Support with best practices for data entry, system updates, and regular audits to guarantee data consistency
- Assist with HR-related inquiries and provide support to employees on HR policies and procedures, as needed
- Coordinate and submit People Team-related expenses, ensuring accurate and timely processing in compliance with company policies
Employee Culture
- Support with employee recognition programs to celebrate achievements and milestones
- Manage logistics for awards, bonuses, or other incentives for outstanding performance

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or applicable work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in human resources or related administrative role
- Proficiency in HRIS, preferably TriNet
- High emotional and social intelligence with experience fostering positive, strong relationships with diverse groups of people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that demonstrate a high level of professionalism
- Highly organized and detail oriented, strength in multitasking
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Passionate about people and how they function together to create a valuable organization
- Conversational Spanish fluency a plus
- Ideally, you are an upbeat, positive problem solver who welcomes challenges. You don’t get overwhelmed by too many moving parts, and have a knack for efficiency and organization!
LOCATION
401 Pierce Road, Menlo Park, CA
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, Monday - Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, however, flexibility is required to align with the organization's needs.
This Position Offers a Hybrid Work Arrangement, Combining Both In-office And Remote Work. You Are Expected To Adhere To The Following Schedule
- In-Office Days: Currently Tuesdays and Thursdays are designated for in-person support of our Onboarding Days
- Remote Work: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are set aside for remote work and site visits
- Flexibility: Please note that this schedule is subject to change, and adjustments may be made in alignment with organizational needs and evolving circumstances
Compensation & Benefits - Employment Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
- Salary Range: $25 - $30 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

ONBOARDING PROCESS
- BGCP will cover all costs associated onboarding process requirements
- A complete LiveScan and Checkr background check is required
- Undergo a TB test
- Participate in mandatory onboarding training sessions
