Position Summary:Â As the Head of Community at Startupr, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating and expanding our community of startup founders, investors, and partners. This role seeks a visionary with strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem. You will be responsible for creating an engaging and supportive environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and growth within the Startupr community.
Core Responsibilities:
Community Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive community strategy that aligns with Startupr’s mission and long-term goals.
- Drive community growth by engaging with startup founders, investors, and partners, and expanding our reach through strategic partnerships and outreach initiatives.
Operational Excellence and Community Management:
- Ensure a seamless and engaging experience for community members across all platforms, with a particular focus on overcoming current engagement and communication bottlenecks.
- Set clear priorities for community initiatives, optimize community engagement workflows, and ensure that all community-related projects are executed to the highest standards.
Market and Industry Insight:
- Keep abreast of trends, challenges, and opportunities in the startup ecosystem to ensure Startupr’s community offerings remain cutting-edge and invaluable.
- Utilize these insights to drive continuous improvement in community engagement strategies.
Business Development and Partnerships:
- Seek new avenues for community growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Work closely with the business development team to ensure community efforts align with Startupr’s broader growth initiatives.
Community Engagement and Events:
- Organize and lead community events, including conferences, workshops, and online courses, to foster networking, mentorship, and collaboration among startups and investors.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies that encourage active participation from all community members.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, inspire, and mentor a team dedicated to building a vibrant and active community.
- Foster a culture that aligns with Startupr’s strategic objectives, promoting innovation, collaboration, and growth within the community.
Offering:
- Equity Stake:Â 5% equity in Startupr, vested over four years with a one-year cliff, acknowledging the crucial role of the Head of Community in our successful launch and long-term growth.
- Compensation: Given the early stage of our venture, we are unable to offer financial compensation prior to launch. In recognition of this, and to align with our need for a self-sustaining individual who can lead Startupr to launch, we offer a substantial equity stake in the company. Post-launch, compensation will transition to a net revenue share model, reflecting the Head of Community’s equity stake in Startupr. This approach is designed to reward early commitment and contribution to Startupr's success.
Experience:
- Demonstrated leadership in startup, tech, or community management roles with a history of building and scaling communities.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with experience fostering startup ecosystems and creating value through community-driven initiatives.
- Deep understanding of community management best practices with a proven ability to leverage these to grow and engage a community.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, adept at navigating through growth and transition.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in building relationships, leading teams, and engaging diverse community members.
- Strong business acumen with the vision to drive strategic initiatives and community growth.
