The
Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that JM&A’s F&I products comply with state and federal regulations. This role works with internal and external stakeholders to oversee regulatory filings, monitor and implement legislative changes, and review product forms and proposals to ensure compliance requirements are met to maintain business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Oversee filings in all states for Service Contracts, Road Hazard & Tire, Gap, Anti-Theft, Pre-Paid Maintenance, and Contractual Liability Policies. This includes working with state regulators to obtain approvals and resolve or negotiate objections.
- Track and review federal and state legislation related to all products and other motor vehicle dealer issues, such as service, repair, warranties, and financing. Communicate changes and implement new legislation by coordinating with various internal departments for product or pricing changes, new filings, and new licenses.
- Ensure all products and forms comply with state and federal laws (e.g., Service Contracts, Gap, Anti-Theft, Pre-Paid Maintenance, Limited Warranties, Buyers Guides).
- Review and provide feedback on new product proposals for accuracy and legal/compliance impacts.
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to existing products, proposed product modifications, and new product initiatives.
- Assist with state regulatory audits.
- Attend industry trade association conference calls, such as the Service Contract Industry Council (SCIC), Guaranteed Asset Protection Association (GAPA), and Motor Vehicle Protection Products Association (MVPPA).
- Set up new forms in applicable mainframe screens and perform audits to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain and update the compliance calendar to ensure compliance and timeliness.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Analytical thinking with strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the department, with other departments, and with regulatory agencies.
- Skilled in influencing others without direct authority and managing change efforts.
- Quality-minded, organized, and able to provide input regarding compliance issues.
