Role Overview:
We are experiencing a period of rapid growth and are seeking a Finance Assistant to support our Financial Controller. In this role, you will assist with recording invoices, processing expense claims, and maintaining our company’s online purchase ledger. Additionally, you will be responsible for resolving client and supplier queries, ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a finance department and take the next step in their career in finance.
Main Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure all invoices expense claims and other payment requests are accurately and promptly processed.
- Process invoice payments into Xero, ensuring authorising procedures are followed and all data is accurately inputted.
- Liaise with budget-holders for invoice authorisation, identifying unauthorised invoices and resolving any payment queries.
- Diligently pursue outstanding payments, from clients ensuring a positive outcome for all parties involved.
- Assist with payment runs, statement reconciliations and gathering payroll information from throughout the company.
- Scan, archive and dispose of financial documents as directed by the Financial Controller.
- Process internal staff expenses adhering to the company’s expenses policy and ensure that payments are made in a timely fashion.
- You may also be required to undertake any other comparable duties that may be reasonably required.
Required experience and skills:
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial data and transactions is essential.
- A degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
- Relevant certifications or ongoing studies (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) can be a plus.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, even at an entry-level, is advantageous.
- Experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or expense management is beneficial.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information is also essential.
Preferred technical skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero) and ERP systems is preferred.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000
Location: Hybrid working with 2 days in our central London office and 3 days from home.
Start date: ASAP
