About The Role
The Accounts Payable Supervisor will report directly to the Finance Director and lead the Shared Services Accounts Payable and Expense Disbursement team. This position is vital in ensuring that all payments are processed promptly and accurately, with strict adherence to internal controls that protect the company’s assets. The Supervisor will be instrumental in fostering strong communication with key stakeholders across Scoular and external vendors, offering effective solutions and addressing any issues that arise. A key responsibility will be to drive the ongoing design, execution, and implementation of best practices and streamlined processes within the newly implemented Workday Financials platform. Additionally, the Supervisor will focus on mentoring and developing the accounts payable team, ensuring high performance and continuous professional growth.
- Manage and develop the shared services accounts payable team, ensuring high performance and proactive development.
- Provide organizational expertise in training programs, ensuring team members develop skills for career advancement and consistent transaction processing.
- Offer oversight and direction in workflow management, promoting efficient and consistent processing, and coaching team leads to assign tasks effectively.
- Partner with key stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize the Workday Financials platform for cash disbursement and treasury processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, serving as a trusted business partner and enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with external vendors, providing solutions to complex issues and ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Be accountable for designated audit areas, assisting and coordinating during the annual financial statement audit.
- Document key disbursement activities and processes, ensuring clarity and compliance with internal controls.
- Continuously evaluate and implement best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable processes.
- Ensure all payment processes are executed with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company policies.
- Respond to escalated issues, providing solutions that enhance the customer experience with Scoular's accounting functions.
- Train and coach the accounts payable team to improve customer service skills and handle complex transactions.
About You:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in accounts payable or related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or related field
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Workday Financials or similar ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
