Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Work Model: Onsite
Must Have Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal skills, displaying superior verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• University degree in Accounting or relevant field
• 1-3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry
• Previous experience with payroll processes
• Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products including Excel
• Knowledge of JDE would be an asset but not a requirement
Job Description:
The Payroll Specialist will be based in the Kansas City, MO area and will report to the Payroll Manager. This candidate will be responsible for day to day activities of providing administrative support services to the US Operations in Kansas City, MO and supporting offices. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Accurately enter and post weekly payrolls.
• Prepare and Issue paychecks.
• Calculate and prepare Payroll tax remittances (Local, State, Federal).
• Benefits administration including enrollment, termination, and reconciling invoice and G/L accounts.
• Union Dues remittance.
• Payroll Administration, including tax updates and other payroll data table administration.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of company payroll burdens.
• Document control administration.
• Assist the Controller, and Payroll Manager and Financial Officer, in other administrative functions when necessary.
