Job Title: Engineering Services Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Services Manager to join our team. As an Engineering Services Manager, your focus will be to provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including customer support and sales, in the development and application of our pipe products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product engineering, sales, and supply chain, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality pipe products that meet customer needs, industry standards, and market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, including customer support and sales, regarding our products, including estimating, shop drawings and construction drawings and details.
• Review Project plans and provide design services to sales team and customers.
• Develop product solutions and prepare submittal drawings and calculations.
• Offer technical advice to support the integrations of products on the site plans.
• Conduct structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and geotechnical reviews as required in proprietary pipe design software.
• Work closely with in-house team supporting operations and manufacturing team for proper fabrication.
• Communicate and coordinate efforts with field sales and manufacturing team.
• Contribute to the writing and development of technical papers and product literature.
• Define and prioritize technical requirements, specifications, and user stories for pipe product development in coordination with Marketing.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering teams to ensure the feasibility, technical integrity, and quality of our pipe products.
• Manage standard product publications, product specifications, including dimensions, materials, and performance characteristics.
• Work closely with Product Engineering to provide technical input and support throughout the product design process.
• Conduct market and competitive research to identify technical trends and opportunities within a manufacturing organization.
• Drive the successful launch and adoption of new pipe products, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitor and analyze product performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify areas for improvement and product innovation.
• Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and compliance with industry standards for our pipe products with trade associations like ASTM, PPI, ASCE, AASHTO, State DOTs, and others.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as an Engineering Services Manager, Technical Services Manager, Product Manager or in a similar technical role within a manufacturing company.
• Experience with reviewing construction plans and specifications, estimating and submittal packages including drawings and take-offs.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations for pipe products.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills specific to pipe product design and performance.
• Strong project management abilities and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing environment and/or civil construction environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
• Experience in customer support and sales of pipe products is desirable.
• Knowledge of raw material sourcing, manufacturing, and logistics for pipe production is an advantage.
• Located in the NE Region of the US is preferred, with a potential to relocate to Upstate NY area.
• Travel required (including some limited international travel) not likely to exceed 25%.
Reporting Structure:
The Engineering Services Manager will report to the Commercial Director.
